Mini Mackinac

Art Direction / Photography

Mini Mackinac is a tiny, ongoing art pop-up born from my love of miniatures and Mackinac Island.

The idea came to me in 2020, several months into the pandemic. Inspired by the childlike joy and storytelling potential of miniatures, I set out to create thoughtfully staged scenes that celebrate the island’s unique character.

Using HO-scale Preiser figurines, I crafted whimsical vignettes of bikers, horseback riders, swimmers, and more—capturing everyday Mackinac life in miniature. Carefully placed and shared on Instagram, these tiny scenes sparked joy both in-person and online.

Created to spread light when it was needed most, Mini Mackinac delighted those who discovered it. Seeing the community’s excitement, both in-person and on social media, has been incredibly rewarding and continues to fuel my passion for keeping the project alive.
